Dielectric mirrors offer near total reflection, minimizing losses in nearly all optical systems. These coatings are very durable, easily cleaned, and resistant to laser damage. It is well known that dielectric coating can produce very high re- flection (more than 99.8% at designed wavelength) They are generally used in a single wavelength laser cavity where the lowest cavity loss at a center wavelength is essential.
